There are a lot of hunting games that are free to download, some of the more popular you can find at Download.com or even the ESPN site.  There is big game hunting games to waterfowl hunting games, and you should stay on the legit sites to avoid spyware or adware.  It’s amazing how much spyware has penetrated into the hunting arena, but the old days of “everything is free on the Internet” is long gone.  This is how they make money now, so be careful.

There are a lot of wildlife hunting games online for you to play.  The only real question is, what species are you interested in to hunt?  From big game hunting games to bird hunting games to taking a trip across safari, there is a lot of options.

I personally don’t feel most online wildlife hunting games have enough options or there isn’t enough bandwidth to give it a true feel.  Your best bet is to purchase your hunting game of choice, then simply use the Multi-Player or online version of the game (it’s hard to find a PC game nowadays that doesn’t support an online multi-player mode).  Whether you know someone or not playing the game, no worries.  I’ve found that each game has a lot of communities available where you can find people to play.

So my advice is if you’re looking to play wildlife hunting games online is to purchase the game so you have a thicker client to play with and the performance should be much better.

The first of the long line of hunting computer games started in the 80s for me on my dad’s old IBM PCjr.  We still have that computer, actually…maybe they’ll come one day for it to go to a museum.  It’s hard to find working machines of that age these days, but that’s for another day.

The graphics were of course, poor to put it kindly.  But for the time it just couldn’t get any better.

I’m curious what hunting computer game was the first?  If anyone knows, please drop me a line.  I’ve been striking out doing research online for old hunting computer games.

When I think back to when I first saw gun hunting games, the original Nintendo Duck Hunter comes into my mind.  That was the first gun hunting game for home use.  Not that long after Operation Wolf, an arcade game,  came into the arena.  I’m not ashamed to admit that I spent a quarter or two in that one.

Nowadays, gun hunting games have come full circle.  More and more game systems are adding gun attachments for various games.  While the styles of guns have changed, the accuracy had a long time before it caught up with the latest technology.  We’re getting closer than ever to pinpoint accuracy.  And I’m curious to see what the industry will come up with next.  Since the age of Doom and other games, the consumer is driving more realism – it will come soon.

I think the industry needs to consult with a true goose hunter before thinking about building their next game. They do the same for every sports game, skateboarding, and on and on…why not with goose hunting? Or any hunting or fishing game for that matter, the industry needs to approach their development from a different angle. That’s my 2 cents.

Goose Hunting Games

Ultimate Duck Hunting for the Nintendo Wii is out. And right away I can’t help but notice how similar it is to the original. I am a duck hunter myself, so I was expecting something a little more real as only the Wii has brought out in gaming today. Needless to say at first watch I was disappointed. But Ultimate Duck Hunting is still what it is, a carnival shoot. The accuracy these days is very close so the chance for a competitive nature is still there. I’m sure the animal rights groups hate the game…so for that reason I will say I give it a thumbs up! (hard to agree on anything with the other extreme)

If I had a 1 out of 10 rating, I would give the Nintendo Wii Ultimate Duck Hunting a 7 out of 10 (giving a bit extra since I support waterfowling).  You can play Ultimate Duck Hunting as long as you have what is compatible with the Nintendo Wii.  And if you search hard enough, you’ll see the free duck hunting game version out there on the web.

I can only assume at this point that every ready will play hunting games soon, if he/she doesn’t play hunting games online already. But if you haven’t ever had a chance to play hunting games – check out Play Hunting Games.

The gaming industry is changing fast. With every year or two brings a new game council, a new PC operating system, some new breaking technology. If you were to look at the first hunting games you played growing up, I’m sure it was something like Duck Hunter on Nintendo. Well, a lot has changed nowadays. The games of today include high end graphics, full 3D area to explore, multiple options, multiple cheats, and on and on and on. If you play hunting games, there’s so much to look forward to. I can only imagine what we’ll see in the next decade.

There is a whole batch of hunting games to play coming out in the latest P3 and on the Gamecube. One could only wonder if Nintendo will take the Wii and development hunting games for it. With the advancement of the Nintendo Wii – I think you could pull it off.

If you play hunting games online, things are only just beginning. All hunting games for the PC have some sort of Internet mode. And with broadband becoming so common and bandwidth getting cheaper, there will be more possibilities to play hunting games online. I’m told a whole new environment is in the works from Activision and to be launched in the upcoming years. We’ll have to wait and see.

At the end of it all, the gaming industry is of course changing fast. With the amount of power processors and video cards have nowadays, we should be seeing more in the hunting game world soon!
